It’s always funny to see the priorities. People were asking how the bunker owning billionaires were expected the AI/climate apocalypse to go for them and we had to point out that while your wealth, data, and all might be screwed up and lost, they have records of their ownership and your debt that will survive a nuclear war.

I theory this could select for bears that are already attracted to human food. This does remind me of the stories about the libertarian town of Grafton (that failed as they all do) where they were having serious problems with bears. Libertarians didn’t want to pay taxes or have odinances on trash collection so the bears showed up to eat the garbage, including the cat litter full of toxoplasma gondii, and some people were actively feeding them. Including one lady who was feeding them dozens of donuts in the middle of town. People were getting mauled.

If only that mattered. The best hunters are like the golfers who can sink putts with a shovel. I have known hunters, including the most loud and proud red blooded American 2A all the way high dollar rigged professional trophy collectors, who are in my opinion dogshit shooters. Not all of them, but yes, most. However, I know that there are quite a few ELR shooters as well as other enthusiast who don’t participate in matches.

There used to be a John Brown gun club and there are certainly are people who are capable and willing to teach. If I had the time and resources I would love to start a two gun or rifle match that leans into the anti-fascist theme. Even .22 matches are growing in popularity and can be easier to get into.

In the early days I really didn’t mind loading the dishwasher and throwing a load of towels in the washer before I left. I’m nice and not a slob. Now so many owners farm it out to management companies, hired maintenance workers and cleaning services. On top of that, and probably because they are paying the cleaners by the hour, they want to hold your guest rating hostage to make you do the work. If they want to charge that much more than a hotel nowadays, I want to get hotel service.
