Yeah small projects you can test yourself, something like gta would require hella manual testing/debugging even with ai, ai kinda sucks at testing stuff like a human, I just stopped having it run tests on personal use apps/frontends, better to just manually use and test it myself keeping note of any issues, it just doesnt detect sht

Guess it depends on the project or model, I haven’t used it in an ide for a while now, since agents have been a thing. I have it set in it’s “soul” to always keep backups, make sure it can restore the backups before making changes, or if i’m in a good stable place, I have it work on a duplicate rather than the main thing so I can make sure it isn’t breaking anything. Every once in a while it fucks up but I just tell it to reverse/restore and it works out fine. Never had any issues with github. In the case of agents, telling it to plan, always ask for confirmation, work readonly on every task until the user allows writing, etc. helps a lot.

You just have to be ultra specific with instructions which feels counter intuitive to using llms or ai in general. Also helps to only use it for meaningless personal projects and not real work I guess lol.

If you arent against using ai and sideloading, you can prob fork voyager and have it support this piefed feature within an hour or so, I might try it later, imo this is the kind of usecase ai is great for, doesn’t harm anyone’s business, it’s all free anyways

the greater issue imo is how its really not bad anymore, sure you still have to babysit it, but its improved significantly without any sort of regulations or laws in place to protect workers

Literal nonissue to use ai for sht like this and the decompiling of games to make mods people have been doing, it could all potentially run locally, its not replacing any jobs and its tedious sht ppl wouldnt do otherwise unless they were insane, like game crackers
