agreed. with what have currently now with LLMs , from my basic understanding it couldn’t ever be up to scratch. maybe some other methods and techniques of AI might be developed and will be able to, idk. as far as I’m concerned the sci-fi AI some want is still going to be science fiction atm

Yeah at the very best it becomes dull when they grew in sub members count. of course the worst outcomes are it became flooded with stupid memes, whining; if it’s something gaming related massive tribalism and Gamerism (iykyk), or larping ass mentality with gatekeeping tendencies and know-it-all way of posting.

I’m just mad that r/manybaggers have become boring of the same 5 brands being bandied about, and miss the more varied bags from 2016 (ish) from posters back then. even the mods is now not posting much, and I had a great time conversing with them back then.

I’m glad that my gacha addiction of choice, Nikke, is here and there’s some regulars. we don’t talk much and only posts fan art most of the time, but hey, at least it’s not as memey or whiny as the equivalent 3 subreddits

I usually stick to more low stress low “intellectual” posts to comment on. Like this post for example I usually wouldn’t comment because it has a higher chance of getting barbed comments. I definitely do not comment in political posts lol.

I want the good part of reddit circa 2015 - 2020, I think. At least that’s around time when I joined reddit and was active. They’re kind of medium - large size back then. Plenty of small to medium-small communities with niche interests and inclusive generally. Have sane rules and moderation

Pretty much the same way “AI” i.e. artificial intelligence as a whole has been tainted. Even something as inane as character behaviors in a video game, enemy AI, you have to put up signs and shit it’s not about genAI. Let alone talking about using AI in more serious manner like scientific research.

I’m guessing Apple couldn’t really go nab engineers or use designs from the Chinese brands that also have done folding screens for a while. And I’m guessing Samsung wouldn’t want to give them without eating too much into Apple’s margins.

Yeah, I would have thought that Apple would have gone to one of the few manufacturers that have done the engineering for them. There’s a few Chinese brands that have been doing it for years, as well as Samsung. The latter have almost a decade of experience making them now.

But I guess with the current US regime, Apple doesn’t have much choice.

I thought the first Motorola with grapheneOS have been confirmed and it’s not a flip form factor. And it’s flagship. This caused a lot of jimmies rustled. I understand why, because Motorola is more known for their budget offering, but I also have seen why it has to be flagship because there are hardware stuff that’s needed by grapheneOS.

The Pixels having the proper security hardware on their poor performing on benchmarks SoC seems more like a happy coincidence to me. I’m happy to be politely corrected.

In fact LG was one of the few ones to try the dual screen phones. For them, it’s via add-on cases. Then there’s the Microsoft Surface phones. But then you have no choice because it’s always attached. They’re more like prototype current foldable phones though.

I really miss my LG Wing. The USB port went out first and I used to charge it only with wireless charging for a few months but that’s just not viable for longevity. No shop around here wants to take a crack at repairing it for me.

Genuinely the second small screen is so useful. I can have my navigation and music player on screens and not muck about as much. I can list more but now I’m ashamed as most of what I use both for are for media consumption lol
