Ad for Hellraiser II, the second installment in the Hellraiser franchise of films. The series created Cenobites, not the word but the monster, a species of demonic beings who also appeared in graphic novels and other media. The lead Cenobite and primary antagonist was Pinhead, summoned to the earth by a puzzle box.

IMO, this was an epic and imaginative sequel to the gloriously gritty original.

2 thumbs up. would get hooked down to hell again.

I felt like the sequel made it goofy. Like, the cd head and some of the other ones were silly.

I had nightmares from the original, elm street, and Childs play (which got goofy w the sequels too) but from 2 on, I was cured.

CD head is in Hellraiser 3! I know because I just finished watching it an hour ago. It also features the cenobite woman who constantly smokes cigarettes from her throat, which is very silly.

I think 2 only introduces one(?) cenobite, the elderly doctor. 3 inteoduces 4-5 new cenobites, some of which are really unnecessary.

You’re not wrong that 2 gets goofy, but 3 is where it starts to get brutal.

They even give “pinhead” little quips to say in 3 to make him more like Freddy Krueger. I didn’t hate 3 but it felt like a considerable drop from 2.
