This is a bullshit excuse and he knows it. It’s about money. Just say that.

Yeah man, if there’s one thing I know about voice actors, it’s that they hate getting paid to read lines.

They ended the quote early. It should be: “'actors would just go crazy if they had to read all of that AI generated bullshit”

“Actors would just go crazy if they had to do the exact same thing they’ve been doing for the past three decades.”

I don’t think this is a 0-100 thing. They were pressed for time and money, had a whole foot in ML already for the pathfinding stuff. AI resentment was nowhere near its current level and only vocal in niche dev instances on the fediverse. The two actors in the vidoc at least claim they were really well compensated and their contracts protected their rights fairly. At least Embark did not go full hog AI praise - they remade character models, re-recorded voice lines. Ofc. fuck gen AI, it’s a planet eating shit machine, made to entrench and disown creative work and workers.

If Bethesda can convince motherfuckers to sit in the booth and read hundreds of completely out of context lines in alphabetical order you can have a couple of them sit there and read a list of callouts you fucking disingenuous ghoul kiryu-slam
