Why would we light the falls blue for American’s politics?
This isn’t surprising. Sure, lots of Canadians are probably thrilled about Tuesday’s results, but attributing anything lit blue as a celebration of US election results, even by a neighboring nation, is just another example of the arrogance of US citizens. Assuming that everything is “about you” is just so typical of my nation’s citizens. It makes international travel more like a guilt trip, because you realize that as soon as you open your mouth, everyone around is going to assume that you’re an inbred, self-entitled idiot. My fellow United Staters are usually a source of embarrassment when traveling abroad. Notice I didn’t say Americans…because Canadians, and every South American citizen, are also Americans. Which is just another bullet to my point.
