then about 6 million into one of those savings accounts that give like 3% interest but are heavily restricted on transactions and such, and just like once a year pull the interest out and live off that… should be more than enough to cover a year of decent living if you arent stupid… and any money left over at the end of the year can be put back into the account to slowly increase the base amount and thus how much you get in interest every year.

where are you gonna get 3-4% interest rate on a regular savings account? barely get that on a CD, and with a CD that moneys locked up until the end of its term (though maybe withdrawable early with a penalty…)

Most savings accounts i’ve seen anymore, you’re lucky to get .25% of interest, and thats on the high end

I know one bank that has like…a 3% interest rate, but it also severely restricts you to a certain number of transactions on that account per cycle. yes that includes bills being paid and debit card transactions. (edit) I suppose that limit doesnt mean shit if you just move your interest out to another normal account once a year…
