That, too.

That, too.

I’m with you, but that is a slow and arduous process that has been fought for years now. In the meantime, until we as a society can wean off of killing our prisoners, we can at least be humane in the way we go about it. The lethal injection is by no means humane.

It’s hard to have sympathy for Pike, given what she’s done. But at the same time, the state is torturing her at this point, which I’m pretty sure is in violation of her constitutional rights. If she is to be sentenced to death for her crimes, then just put a fucking bullet in her and end her misery already, which is what should have been done in the first place. The lethal injection has always been a cruel, wasteful, and performative procedure and should have been abolished ages ago. It exists not for the safety of the executed, but to protect the feelings of those who have to witness the execution. Fuck that; if you believe that you have the right to end somebody’s life as a punishment for their crimes, then you should have to witness the grim reality of the sentencing you give out. There is so much margin for error with the lethal injection process that an outcome like this was bound to happen eventually - in fact, this isn’t even the first time somebody’s survived a botched injection like this.
I don’t really know where I’m going with all this. This story just has me riled up in a variety of ways lately.

“But from a global allocation perspective, actually, it’s quite terrible to have everybody have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of
[dynamic RAM]food sitting in their owncomputerpantry,” he added.
Sounds a bit evil, like the kinda thing a cartoon villain would say. Doesn’t matter if it’s food or RAM, he wants what is yours. His continued existence is a personal and direct threat against you, your family, and their safety.
And again, the Internet is not something that you just evaporate water into; it’s not a cloud. It’s a series of tubes.

I mean, this has pretty big ramifications across the web as a whole. This is going to signal to other platforms that they should do the same, and huge swaths of the internet are going to be effectively inaccessible to search engines.
This makes it much harder to find information online without sacrificing more of your privacy. We do care about this.

We finally know why the ocean is so wet: It’s full of water.

The real reason they stopped training on the live Internet because their agents have already poisoned the live Internet to the point of being unusable, even for bots.

I don’t see anything worth keeping, do you?

Or they’re downvoting because it’s just a long rant with dozens of uncited, speculative claims. It’s not really a good fit for the community.

Was it wrong? Absolutely. Was it justified? Absolutely.
Gotta pick one, chief.
100% pure, concentrated, conservative logic right there.

That’s not what he said.
Plenty of artists are worried about Al being trained on their data. No fediverse “platform” protects from it.
I very much doubt Haven protects from AI scrubbing, either. Maybe it does today, but that’s a constant cat-and-mouse game. I have doubts as to the efficacy of AI-poisoning efforts.

These cunts live every day without nearly enough fear of being tarred and feathered. That really ought to change.

That won’t get you a book deal like a “new word” will. The author thinks this will make him the next Cory Doctorow.

Does the author assume that the reader doesn’t know what Australia is? “Australia! You know; the place with kangaroos, shrimps on barbies, and toilets that flush the other way around!”
Fuckin’ aye.
