People having conversations isn’t exactly new, but it’s ironic that these people start with the concept of an open discussion forum and then start accusing others of TDS and spin up a new group.

I expect nothing to come of this. These companies are massive, and they’re x-opolies. iOS and Android (Google). Cisco and Palo Alto and Juniper. AWS and azure. Which of those companies didn’t slobber trumps dick the last 2 years?
NASA will give up SpaceX? I doubt it.

Dishonest shill influencers are absolutely everywhere on YouTube.

5% gap between an Indian republican and a white woman in a historically red (and white) state experiencing historically high fuel prices.
I’m not sure this is a lasting upset.

Atrributing this kind of damage on systems that are plainly evident on shodan with a well known secret to state sponsored malicious actors is giving them way too much credit. This could be a 10 year old with a shell script and VPN.
When it comes out that all these networks are deeply compromised as a result of easy lateral movement from the freezer to the domain controller, then I’ll agree it’s possibly state sponsored.

The challenger Eisenkot is a retired army general and came up with the operational tactic of flattening neighbourhoods in Palestinian areas.
Sounds to me like the Israeli people are majority in favour of genocide, but are split on how to accomplish the goal. Recently, Netanyahu was credibly accused of knowing about the Oct 7 2023 attacks.

Face absolutely - and the location, and nearby devices, some of which are running the Meta apps. Then they try to link it all to an identity on Facebook. Which links back to the advertisers who upload their customer lists and purchase history for advertising purposes. Facebook knows you’re not at Starbucks today, because you only go there with your coworkers.

How does building out semiconductor production in the country that does virtually all semiconductor production help with supply chain resilience exactly?
My spinning rust is expensive. Man.

POP isn’t sync; pop downloads all the messages locally and you tell the server what to do with them once they’re downloaded.
The result is that you have your messages on your device. But when you go to another device, it’s a different set of messages with different read status.
Unless something has changed, that’s how it worked last time I used POP and that’s why everyone used IMAP now that there’s multiple devices (phones, laptops) in play.
You’re right about self hosting email; it’s a pain.

Imagine how much cigarette ash accumulated in those carpets.

The Hispanics for ICE/Trump is really strange.

No, the billionaires will continue to hoard.

I understand the sentiment behind the Chinese imports. But it’s not like the retailers who mark up the product they in turn buy from aliexpress are more than rent seekers.
The 9% hurts. Again I understand it’s to prevent shipping via a convenient third country but there’s a lot of really cool stuff that comes from the world outside of China. Not to mention UK.

ETA I just checked and with an EV (short trips) my house averages about 25 a day (past month only no heat no ac) of which 16 is the overnight car charging rate. I’d be tearing the place apart looking for a server rack.
Outdoor workshop having 200a service isn’t that surprising. It’s a shop, you need power for things. Maybe they planned a big electric heater and a dozen big power tools like saws and or lathes. Or welding. Chances are the cost between 100A and 200A wasn’t much. Saved money not populating breakers.
Figure out how to read the meter; they usually have some kind of display for instant consumption. Turn all the breakers off - that should be zero. Flip them on one by one and watch for spikes. The noninvasive option is to buy a clamp meter but you have to know how to use it and how to be safe in a live panel.
Non-LED lighting can add up fast. Electric clothes dryers are arguably the least efficient use of electricity in a home. Portable AC is pretty bad too. Well pumps can draw quite a bit - make sure the pressure tank is working and the well pump isn’t running a lot. There’s efficient models but they’re expensive. Side note - put that UV on a battery backup. It doesn’t need to be much but any water usage during an outage, or simply a longer outage means the lines are potentially contaminated and need to be disinfected. You could have a fridge that has bad seals or a freezer that’s set too cold - I pushed my freezer one setting cooler and it runs A LOT so I set it back to default.
Things like older TV can draw more than you think. Passive draw from standby appliances can add up but you still need a lot to make a difference. The blowers on the furnace and water heater if you don’t have a chimney are going to be pretty beefy. Old furnaces have fans that are not too efficient.
Hour by hour analysis could be useful to look at. Look for a Green Button in the billing portal.
You could also enter the dark side and set up something like the Emporoa Vue and Homeassistant and get all the data.

Not just smart but better than people who aren’t as rich. Because money is the measure of success for a lot of people

If focusing on one language, learn one that is good because you’ll have to work in other languages eventually and a well structured language will make that a lot easier than a less well structured one.
I’m not a swe but I learned fundamentals in C++ (probably wouldn’t recommend that), work frequently in PowerShell, have played in C# a bit, and I’ve worked in Python a bit as well. Python seems like a really good place to start, today.
Another note - front end and back end isn’t usually the same skill set even if it is the same language.
