Yes. Are you suggesting we just hold hands with America while they try to ruin our economy for the sake of fundamentalists, oil execs, and war profiteers? No one in this thread has suggested any recriminations towards Mackelmore, only not funding and supporting the nation that is threatening us.
So clearly you and I aren’t seeing the same thing, so spell out your stance as clearly and as simply as I did mine, and let’s see which makes more sense. No metaphors, no allusions to past events, just what you think people here are advocating for and the probable result.

Your sentiments are fine, your grasp of how politics affects our daily lives, and comprehension of what people are saying about Mackelmore in this post, are sadly lacking. I can say nations are bullshit til im blue in the face, but we still have massive tariffs with our largest trading partner right now, which impacts the daily lives of nearly everyone in my country, and I care about their well-being. Giving more money than necessary to the people who could put a stop to this is the act of fools. I don’t understand how I can keep talking about building stronger ties with other allies and you hear nationalistic flag-waving. If you had any understanding about Canadian history, you’d know that we’re usually about 10 years behind America, which means we tend to avoid the really big fuckups. But don’t worry, I am familiar with Canadian history. I know we sent Jews back to Germany before the internment camps and the holocaust. I know we had camps for Germans and Japanese in WWII, and that my first-generation Canadian grandfather likely wasn’t one of them because he wasn’t considered a significant enough threat and running his farm supported the war effort. But we avoided the bank collapse of 2008, and I think we will also avoid the jackbooted thugs in our streets and locking up people primarily due to their skin color for the same reason. Because, as I said before, we do watch what happens in America and often learn from your mistakes.
Now, I’m not saying you shouldn’t share your opinions, but you will have to think about them a bit more before I will give them any weight. There’s a lot more history and politics than what happened in less than half of North America in 600 years, and we as Canadians don’t need advice from a member of a country that has people around the world, including their own country, half jokingly saying that wars are how they learn where other countries are on the map.
