I have no idea about their ethics or whether the money is going somewhere shit. But BH photo has a good digital store and comparable pricing for electronics

And he played 2pac’s Changes as his walk off music. Think that’s a first for a senator

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the Lemmy Community's opinion on Scouting?
29·10 days agoWas one of the only organizations I knew of that was kid-run, with kids deciding what to do and how to do it. Great to get away from parents and go out camping once a month.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there any way to restore sticky degraded rubber surfaces?
5·12 days agoIf it is the soft-touch plastic, the answer is to use alcohol and just remove it. The hard plastics stand up over time but the soft plastics turn into a gummy mess. A common one is headphones.
Deregulation and tax cuts in the 80s led to he decline of social systems and they haven’t recovered since. Now the richest are 1000x richer than they were back then and nobody else has money.

The lack of cognitive load from worrying about how it will come out is worth paying a premium.

321·19 days agoAlter your perspective a bit. That video shows the duality of the human condition. Everybody has multiple sides. Wife beaters can be wonderful to their dogs, or excellent mentors at work. We are all capable of incredible charity and cruelty at the same time.
Look at it not as a creepy video of someone that did something wrong, but instead a sad video showing the lost human potential that was corrupted by some force in his life.
Wonder if anyone has looked at power costs of running local ai. Some things sound nifty, but if it’s costing me 20 a month it doesn’t seem worth it

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What can we do about the increasing problem of these self-deleting bot accounts?
1·11 months agoYeah. Kind of crazy I can lose access to a 20 year old acct and Google is just like ‘meh can’t verify you’ and we all just think that makes sense. I should be able to somehow verify who I am and get reinstated.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What can we do about the increasing problem of these self-deleting bot accounts?
1·11 months agoHonestly, I think some sort of blind verification system is what the internet needs. Some kind of notary-like system where a verification happens locally with a person, and then no info on the person gets passed out except the verification to start an account.

Does this mean they’ll actually market plans in the gigabyte instead of the misleading gigabit?
