  • GTA only, because for the first time ever I can’t afford a switch 2 to get the game. Maybe one day, but probably not for another year at least. My friend is getting both and by accident he realized best buy is doing a midnight release so he will get it tonight. Been years since we last heard of a midnight release. I miss those days. I told him to let me know how many ppl even show.

  • That and a hell of a lot of other things are exactly the reason they were voted in in the first place, so I absolutely hope they have the balls. If they can’t prove they do much in the next 2 years then a lot of it will crumble during the big election. This has me worried since I think people are going to expect a lot, but it’s still going to be hard to accomplish much right now as well. Theres also the chance they don’t do much like usual and again blow it. I am cautiously optimistic and hope they do whatever it takes to make the other side hell for the next 2 years.

  • Thats some balls. Was that really a threat? Your offering services to students and got hurt when they don’t want to be forced into using something they never wanted and something that will just give the company more info on them.

I kind of love when they get to this size, because this is where the things come out that contradict who they say they are and you really get to see what they care about. I just hope people see this and find new tools to use.

  • They will, thats second phase. The messed up part here is I have seen and heard many stories about stuff like this and the one that frustrates me the most is the line about saving 20%. We had a guy who did care about his staff and did everything in his power to find other ways to save the money. In the end he was told it was never really about the savings from that perspective, but thanked him for trying. He still had to lay off a good part of his staff anyway. After that he found a new job as quick as possible.

  • Yeah… only a few years older from me. I started having some mild health issues these past few years which I never had anything my entire life prior to this. Idk if its because of that but I have serious issues changing or even taking my meds despite knowing it will lead to more issues sooner by doing so. Seeing stuff like this is kind of a reality check sadly. I do hope to get my shit together sooner than later. I really dont care to die in my 40’s or 50’s if I can help it.

  • I have been using private trackers for 15 years now and have been extremely happy with them. I dont mind seeding back, plus not all of them have the ratio requirement. My tv show site knows it would be very hard to keep that from slipping so instead of ratio its just a certain length for episodes and season grabs. I really dont care about keeping my bittorrent app running since i leave my pc on anyway. As for sonarr it just copies the file to the new directory and renames it, after a few months ill do a cleanup that takes 2 min.

As for usenet, my coworker loves it but he definitely says it has issues which may or may not be an issue today or workarounds for it? He has said the takedown requests are so fast now that finding a lot of stuff that releases quickly can be difficult if you dont use sonarr or radarr to grab right away. Every now and then he has to ask me to find stuff.

The only real issues ive ever had is the instability where sometimes theres outages and not much you can do. I remember last year or maybe year before that one of the biggest had a 2 month outage and things looked bleak.

  • Thats crazy that you now need to prove you have a business to get that service? Don’t worry, it cost way more anyway and offers very little extra to be worth it at least in the US. I used to use duckdns years ago, and now I just said screw it and purchased a domain name from namecheap for a few bucks for the year and a few more bucks for the ssl cert then use the ddns service through them and link it to a pc on my network using the small app they provide to keep the IP updated. I use the name for all my services. Sometimes the name will cost way more when renewing in which case ill just pick another one because screw them. Ive used a .co and now using a .space.

  • Ive been saying this. The only way this succeeds is to sell this to businesses, but even then I feel like companies are realizing it’s way to much money to actually justify it because they want to reduce workforce and save money but this will not do that. In the end they get a great deal on the first few years before the contract is up and then have to renew at way higher pricing. Not to mention they have less control over the company and will be paying yearly maintenance fees that probably cost more than the raises they wouldnt have given their employees but now have to pay up those crazy fees every year no matter what. Yeah it’s absolutely going to fail for most things for the forseeable future. Someone will find a way to make it work eventually, but its still a ways off.
