You can do a lot with limited ram if you use containers instead of VMs. Less isolation, but you can look into rootless podman containers for some improvement.

There are N100 and related SBCs that get close or match them, and if you REALLY need low power - running off a small battery or solar or something like that - you probably dont want anything with 16gb of ram.

Take a zero off there, bud.

The 16gb rpi5 isnt something that makes me “hate” them, but it sure does make me question what could be going through their minds. Theres hardly any good use case at that price that isnt way bettee served elsewhere.

Pi zeros are still cool. Dont tell anyone.

I wholeheartedly agree… but floppy disks?!?
They havnt been remotely rubust or reliable next to various flash memory systems for 20 years. A little magnetic field or dust and that 1.2Meg is corrupt. Usb flash drives can go through the laundry and get run over by a car and give you your files back.

Have any of these new vulnerabilities been desktop linux?

This example demonstrates my point though. It requires an extremely unusual system configuration that may or may not even exist in the real world it is so unusual. AI doesnt get tired, like you said, but its not about spaghetti code (both musl and openssh are gold-standard opposite of spaghetti code), its about trying every possible software combination in ways a human wouldnt bother.

Other way around. This requires a passwordless account configured with sha256 or sha512 password hash, musl system with openssh installed, no PAM, and password authentication allowed:
When logging into a passwordless account, the attacker can gain access by inputting more than 256 characters in the password field.

Oh absolutely. Waiting and pouncing on some vulnerability would be the safe bet. Maybe blind their sensors or command and control uplink radios with lasers or microwaves, not damage them directly.

It seems like the pattern emerging is that AI is great at finding these obscure vulnerabilities that are only exploitable on very particular systems with very particular, non-typical configurations, and only on nights where unicorns fart candycorn.
Sure, fix them, but the hype is too much. Also, disable password auth on SSH already. Jesus. Keys arnt that hard.

Have we all forgot about the vaccume tube human transport thing already? This is what he does.

The numbers didnt make sense for his tunnel thing either, but thats because he has never been an engineer but a hype-man who manipulates governments and markets for proffit.

The latter two would be way easier.

With our current tech, a Mars mission pretty much 100% certain a one-way trip.
Common elon, wheres your “move fast and break stuff” spirit? Lets get you suited up and on a rocket asap!

People have been building them normally for decades. They just used to be regular industrial buildings in industrial-zoned areas and required only minor grid upgrades.
The scale of the new stuff makes it pathological. You cant be a good guy if your hyperscaler is the size of a small town and uses as much power and water as a state.

People still think “the job creators” will leave to other states.

And you are back to the problem of what used to be illegal is now legal. It doesnt need to be legal.

Any country you send him too should be considering dumping of hazardous waste.
With the recent bs, I have noticed that most all of the off-lease usff boxes get stripped of ram and nvme disks before posting. 8gb is more common now.
