I’m not an electioneering expert or anything, but I’ve often thought that one way to get the best of both worlds would be to generate a unique one-way hash of a voter’s vote choices and essentially a private key (not 4). The hash could be publicly displayed to verify the final counts without revealing anything about the person behind the votes. The list of hashes for a candidate could be counted by everyone and anyone could verify that their hashes were listed under the correct candidates.

The first?? What is this, Pastarama?

Not everyone lives on Lemmy and/or lets internet drama live rent-free in their head. I’ve been on here a while and I’m only vaguely aware of inter-instance drama. I know everyone hates .ml, but like OP I’m not sure why. So, maybe, don’t be a dick?

Oh wow, yeah you did! Great minds think alike, I guess!
Love me some Uncle John’s. I’d recognize that page number decorator anywhere!

Man just go to gmail and make an email address. I have like 30. I have addresses for spam, doing financial stuff, signing up for irl service requests (plumbing or electrician or whatever), etc etc. it takes like 5 mins to setup forwarding and filters, so you don’t miss something you care about
Yes, yes, scramble to stay relevant. We’ve seen this dance before.
