There are a lot of people who refuse to learn about that subject in particular, instead choosing to believe that it’s badwrongfun because some vlogger told them so based on lies and/or misinformation

I… err… erm… Right back at ya!

Refusing to know anything about a subject
I’m talking about AI but the people here who make that flex a lot will downvote me to hell and back!

So electric cars are 37%, let’s assume it’s as close as possible and petrol and diesel combined sold 36.999%. What’s the other 26.001%? Flinstones-style foot-powered vehicles?

Yes is is (though I accept that ternary is more common, it just slipped my mind). Also English is not a prescriptive language (like French or Welsh) so maybe stop being quite so pedantic about what is and isn’t a word

And the ones who thought this was a trinary joke

The programmer goes “Oh no, a special case!”

Well go on then!

Well one thing we can do is tell the fuckwits who want computer games without AI to learn literally anything about the subject.
We could use terms like “predictive systems” or “expert systems” or “monster control systems”, but they’re all more specific. I say we keep using the term AI when talking about the field in general and when someone complains tell them to stop talking nonsense, and then keep using the correct term.
When someone’s opinion is based on falsehoods and is incredibly annoying and factually wrong it’s best to discount it
