  • Lemmy is politically extremely left leaning

I feel like the average Lemmy user is a progressive first and foremost. And then we do have certain instances that harbor far-left people and they can get really loud.

But you know what’s interesting? One of the reasons I left Facebook, a solid few years ago, was I was getting the worst kind of far-left propaganda in my timeline. It was only here and there, but one pro-USSR meme is one too many. I always remember that anytime I’m wrestling a tankie on here.

  • What’s this about Tidal having lax policies on AI? They detect it and you can choose not to see it. Sure, I wish they’d delete it, but I wouldn’t call this “lax”, as far as mainstream goes anyway. How much better are other platforms doing that Tidal is “lax”?

I mean, I used to see some AI stuff on Tidal, rarely, but after they introduced this option to disable AI I have seen zero.

I can’t get Quobuz in my region. Tidal’s about as good as it gets

  • materialistic vapid assholes

My sister earns 2.5 the national average. Her husband even more. They’re late 30s, own an apartment which they paid off years ago.

She complains that she’s poor and has to spend hours (and does) in various supermarkets to find the cheapest groceries.

She wants to buy a house that literally only the 1% can afford and she’s outraged she can’t afford to pay for it without making a loan.

She works in IT and didn’t even go to university for it. Imagine earning 2.5 the national average without a college degree in what isn’t even a management role or anything special, and complaining that you’re underpaid with the passion of a single mother of 3 who has to work two minimum wage jobs to raise her children. And no, my sister doesn’t even have pets. She simply gets to keep all her money.
