  • Just tax the wealthy. They obviously have too much money. When you have that much money you don’t just have it in a bank account having inflation eating away at it.

You have to invest it but the investment market is oversaturated. There are no longer any good investments so you have to pump up the bad investments and dump it before everyone else does.

A stock market is supposed to be a way to streamline making connections between people that have money to invest and companies that need investment. But with everything oversaturated, it’s just a casino. Go long before everyone else does, short before everyone else does.

The wealthy also want to hedge and put a bunch of money somewhere safe. So they invest in real estate. So now a home is an investment, and that’s too oversaturated and it’s too expensive for regular people to own a home.

Tax the wealthy, they have too much money and it’s causing serious problems for everyone. People going on and on about the problems being impossible to solve and we need a revolution or whatever are just distracting everyone from the obvious problem that has an obvious solution. The wealthy have too much money, the government can tax the wealthy if we push them to do that.

  • Oh come on, who is really doing the scamming here?

Who’s going to make most of the money on this? It will be scummy lawyers, that’s who. We shouldn’t be handing a whole bunch of money to scammy lawyers just because they can imagine a hypothetical idiot that doesn’t know that the McRib is processed meat. Just do an image search on McRib and tell me that there is any way someone could think that isn’t processed meat. How the fuck would you have a sandwich that has bone in the meat?

What are even the damages on this? How would you determine who are the idiots that bought a McRib thinking it wasn’t processed meat?

If you’re really against scams, you should be against these lawyers using the legal system to scam a bunch of money for themselves.

What’s next, the makers of Goldfish crackers should be sued because hypothetically there could be an idiot out there somewhere that thinks they contain goldfish meat?

We aren’t fighting back against the corruption and scaminess in our society by just allowing some other group of people run the scams.

  • Fascism holds both a social and economic definition that just does not align with the actions and history of the CCP.

I’m not talking about historical CCP, I’m talking about the CCP of today. Today it is dominated by xenophobic misogynistic billionaires. Xi is President for life because of the belief that only a strongman can protect China from the evil foreigners and run the economy (which is a capitalist economy). Labour unions are illegal in China, workers are oppressed. No matter the CCP may have been in the past, it is a fascist party today.

What? We are operating under the commonly agreed upon and well defined terms utilized by those teaching basic political science all over the world.

I actually have a science degree. Political “science” was not a credit towards my degree, it’s in the humanities category. They call it “science” to try to give it legitimacy, but there really isn’t a whole lot of science going on there. Too many old communist professors that are in denial of a lot of things. They have tenure so continue to have lectures about how “real communism” has never been tried (google the “no true scotsman” fallacy) and a lot of apologism over the atrocities committed by communist regimes. You’re not supposed to take those poli sci classes seriously, it’s just an easy credit if you don’t challenge anything the old commie profs say.

    Lol, late stage communism?

Why not? You have a Pavlovian response to the phrase “late stage capitalism” so I guess late stage communism isn’t something that’s part of your conditioning. Multiple communist regimes have failed, so if we’re actually doing real political science (and not just going along with whatever the commie prof says) it would be something that would be studied and the patterns could be identified. It’s really backwards that a system that’s failed many many times is never studied in terms of having a “late stage”, while the system that hasn’t failed is the one you assume must inevitably fail.

We know that central planning doesn’t work for a developed economy (it’s too complex for a small group of people to manage), communist regimes have to allow some degree of economic freedom so the economy can function. Increased economic freedom results in ideas spreading, which means there’s a greater pressure for political freedom on the ruling regime. Hardliners don’t want this (it’s a threat to their power) coups and crackdowns start occurring. Eventually the people realize the whole system is dishonest and just stop showing up to work, or do the bare minimum. Malaise takes over. The whole thing becomes untenable and we see economic and political collapse. Late stage communism in a nutshell.

But sure, go on pretending that communism is super successful and go along with a religious-like prophecy of “late stage capitalism” that doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. Like why are we now in “late stage capitalism” now but we weren’t in the 1930s? Why did the policies implemented to get out of the Great Depression work, and why wouldn’t they work now?

John Maynard Keynes > Karl Marx. Marx identified some real problems with capitalism, Keynes found a solution to those problems. The Marxist solution failed, the Keynesian solution succeeded. It’s obvious to anyone that understands anything about economics. Communism is obsolete, it only exists now as a rationalization for authoritarianism.

  • Most of the stuff you list are actually liberal policies. You know liberals those evil enemies of the tankies?

Communism is about state control of the economy. Shit that failed every time it was tried.

The whole point of the communist propaganda is to make you hate liberals that want the same things you do, and to make you spout communist slogans that make you sound like a crazy person. If you just said “I want to tax the rich, bust up big corporations, and implement universal healthcare” most people will agree with that. But If you rant on like “seize the means of production late stage capitalism eat the rich stalin did notihng wrong, china is a utopia blah blah blah” everyone rightly considers you a crazy person and nothing happens.

Maybe just stick to talking about the policies you want and stop with the commie talk and maybe things might happen. But then you would be saying the same thing as liberals oh noes! That’s bad according to the influencers that are heavily promoted by corporate social media. Always gotta do what corporate social media influencers tell you! Liberal are baaaaaaaad. They just talk about raising taxes on the rich and improving healthcare, they might not have even read Marx! BAD LIBERALS!

  • Yeah so it’s a reverse boycott. After we buy a lot from this company everyone will understand why this company isn’t a viable business!

Meanwhile in the real world, investors see an uptick in usage. Sure it’s not making money yet, but they project more growth because it looks it may be a viable business.

The companies paying for subscriptions see that the employees are using the service a lot and keep paying for those subscriptions. It’s silly to assume that a company paying for a subscription for AI isn’t going to know the tokens were wasted. If they knew that, they’d fire the employee doing this because it’s maliciously wasting company resources. If no one is fired for wasting tokens, we can logically assume the company paying for the subscriptions think the tokens are being used for valid work purposes and continue paying for the subscriptions.

What would actually prove to a company that an AI subscription is worthless is using zero tokens. Why would they pay for a service their employees don’t use?

Methinks this is a person that is actually using AI and feeling guilty over it. So its… “yeah I’m just using to to waste tokens to fight the power!” That or a brainrotted accelerationist.

Just another bullshit cog in the bullshit economy.

  • Maybe leftists should just consider the possibility that China is actually a fascist capitalist country now. Fascism isn’t exactly an ideology that’s about being honest to everyone about what they call themselves. Fascists will call themselves socialist or communist if it gains them power or helps them maintain power.

But I suppose this is difficult for leftists to accept that because of the political spectrum bullshit. You couldn’t go from being communist (far left) to being fascist (far right) without there being a revolution of some kind! It’s also problematic with the Marxist narratives that say that there’s some kind of inevitable prophecy with steps that have to happen in a specific order. That’s all proven to be bunk if a communist country can just become fascist. Can’t entertain the idea that late stage communism is identical to late stage capitalism, right?

So I suppose leftists have to continue to believe that a country with a ruling party that’s dominated by xenophobic misogynistic billionaires is somehow still communist.

  • Yeah, getting metrics on software development has always been a problem from the first time people were writing code in the employ of a business.

Businesses love metrics. Put them on spreadsheet makes some graphs, that’s what some people do as their job.

The problem is you can’t actually measure the productivity of someone that’s doing something that’s never been done before. Software development is always about doing things that haven’t been done before. If you want the same software, you just copy it, you don’t need a developer. You only need a developer to make the software do something it doesn’t currently do, which means having someone do something they’ve never done before.

You just can’t measure the productivity on that. But businesses want to have some numbers, so they chuck whatever numbers they have into a spreadsheet.

  • LLMs are an algorithm. There will be times it should be used and times it shouldn’t be used because it’s to inefficient and/or to expensive. Then there’s the whole field of decidability… lots of halting problems that have no solution. Who will decide when to make the call that enough tokens have been used and should stop the agent because there’s probably no solution?

Who will decide when to use LLM (and which model) and when it makes more sense use another algorithm instead?

Deciding which algorithms to use sounds an awful lot like the job of a software engineer.
