Same. Got banned there for pointing out some of the echo chamber articles that get posted there. I even donated to the dev because I thought he would be hands off, but nope. He wanted his little kingdom to do whatever he wanted with.

7·3 days agoTwo or three years ago sure. Now…not even close. Tons of models run on basically shit now. Especially with MOEs. I run new lightweight models on an i9 and 64gb of ddr4 ram with a 4gb quadro card…in a laptop from 19’.
I think this is why a lot of these tech bros are saying silly shit about suggesting people need to rent from them. That’s their entire shtick. Otherwise they got nothing else.

4·6 days ago5-6 is laughable for these guys… you’re %100 correct. 5-6 years is for companies running their own stuff and even then, if you’re hosting for clients that have any security measures in place, they will not be happy with you running aging and potentially EOL/S equipment.

3·6 days agoWhat I find hilarious about all this clippy 2.0 shit, is that tech doesn’t stay relevant for long. It’s not like a car or house that can be used for 20 years like a car or 100+ for a house or longer…it becomes obsolete pretty quickly. Just go on eBay and you will see a fuck ton of smx2 and smx3 gpus for pennies of what they originally cost these idiots.

13·6 days agoThis is more like housing
He’s saying, rent from me because you don’t really need a house, you should be happy with a single apartment that I have crammed 10 people into and rent is $5k a month. Be happy I give you electric and water access.

1·18 days agoWell your questions sparked me to look again for a short cable that’s not $40…
And whatdaknow found these, look like same quality as the expensive ones and like $6. I ordered the blue and silver ones.

Once they get here in two weeks I’m going to try them out…but now I need to find a DAC/amp combo that’s clip on lol

Technology@lemmy.world•Fairphone unveils Fairbuds 2 with replaceable battery, Sony LDAC and ANCEnglish
21·18 days agoThe issue I have with those is the wires going down my shirt and into my pocket. I have been thinking of looking for a clip on BT DAC/AMP to clip to my shirt neck and then a super short wire, but I can’t find super short wires for whatever reason (that aren’t priced at like $40). So I think I’m going to have to figure out how to make a pair.

21·18 days agoAnc for me doesn’t really matter (only other noise I battle against is farm animals or equipment), if you have a good seal on your IEMs, then you’re not going to hear anything but the music anyways. Using my farm equipment, it’s actually quieter with IEMs than it was with neckbands that had ANC anyways.

5181pro, that uses the qcc5181 BT chip. Then I have mmcx to .78 2pin ear loops (you can find them for like $5). This allows me to swap out to other pin outs as well if I ever get IEMs with different pinouts than the most common (.78). The battery lasts me two days of 8-10 hour listening and they’re decently well built. Way way stronger than the single cord ones you can get for cheaper. There is a 8 core braided one that nutty on YT suggestes to get but he suggested it back when it was $80 now it’s $130ish and that was just way to much for my taste.

31·19 days agoI went over to IEMs a month ago. Bought a solid Bluetooth 5.4 neckband for them, and now I have like 5 pairs of IEMs. BT neckband I can pop open and replace it’s battery as well (soldering required but non destructive). They sound a million times better than any of my TWS earbuds or neckbands and they are cheaper. To top it all off, because it’s 3 different parts, if something breaks I can replace just it and not have to deal with tossing the whole thing. I wish I had known about them years ago.

News@lemmy.world•‘We’re done’: Ukraine resumes strikes on Russian oil refineries as anger at Trump mounts
24·21 days agoWish we had a Zelenskyy in the white House and not the festering pile of orange shit we currently have.
Most of the people who get phished, are not educated enough to avoid it. They don’t want to be, because computers are just supposed to work and not be something they need to learn.
If you’re educated and ask questions vs just assuming everything is legit and giving away everything they ask for then you realize quickly that phishing is not as convincing as you’re making it out to be.
The problem is that if they’re getting phished with TOTPs then they’ll walk through a scammer over the phone to let them access their accounts other ways.
You can put all the security in place all you want but 99% of breaches aren’t coming from red team actors “hacking” into a system. It’s way easier (and even moreso now with LLMs able to do robo calls with human sounding voices) and get Brian from accounting to give up his shit…or even the CEO to give up his.
I’ve seen it all, they willfully will give over their access because they’re dumb as fuck.
