Ok. That sounds totally reasonable. When you said over a month, i thought you had one of those MRE barrels from Costco. We usually have a case of water and a case of bubbly water cans in the garage and we could probably live for 4 weeks if we had effectivity to keep things frozen. We’re bad about throwing stuff into the garage freezer and forgetting it’s there - mostly chicken nuggets, French fries, pizza. Cucumbers, tomatillos, and hatch peppers are growing right now.

How much water and food is that? We could easily live for a couple of weeks off what’s in our pantry and freezers. Losing electricity would shorten that considerably.

Just to increase the anxiety that’s already there.

Also because not having toilet paper is inconvenient.

In my family we have an ongoing argument regarding when instant gratification became the norm. I say it’s the ATM. My husband says it’s the car. Obviously things have increased pretty rapidly since either of those.

You enjoy bridges? I hate them, especially the super tall ones and the ones with metal grates. What part do you like? What are your favs?

Tequila bothers my stomach. I lean more towards whiskey, wine, and weed.

Interesting, but i don’t think that’s it. I think it’s that I’m pissed off and sad that the kid who corrects everyone else can’t see what he’s doing wrong.

My family was sitting in a restaurant for some type of event - funeral, wedding, something like that. My son who doesn’t speak to us was there at the table, avoiding interaction. I ordered something with a weird modification, like lemon cake without frosting. Son began yelling about my order. We all looked at him for a moment and then began laughing because the thing that brought him out of estrangement was the opportunity to correct someone.

We had local news at 5, national at 530, and world news at 6. We saw what they wanted us to see.

I’ve been really struggling at work lately. I’m not ready to retire but it sucks so bad and I’m super stressed over it. I spent yesterday cleaning out 95% of my 15k emails. Seeing so many messages from longtimers that have moved on made me realize that we all come and go and maybe it’s time for me to go- and it doesn’t have to be in an “I’m outta here!” way; just looking for a change.

People always think Texas is super red, but we’re really something like 54% of voters in presidential elections. The districts are so fucking gerrymandered it keeps everything outside of the bigger cities looking red.

Because they’re upside down?

Darkness Falls scared the crap out of me in 2003, when i was 32. I spent the next 22 years unable to go to bed without turning the light on over the stairs. Then we moved to a one-story house.
My husband said the caterpillars with the Cheshire Cat. 🤷

Copacabana. I’ve had it for about 8 years. Drives my husband crazy that i can’t stop singing it.

My friend refers to this as - Don’t be stupid while you’re being stupid.

I don’t normally put ice in it. Just regular tap water. It’s refreshing.

If you have water going to your toilet you should be able to install a bidet seat. Easy peasy.
I try to but I’m terrible at it.
