My take on it is that AI has been thrusted into everyone’s face without need or want and with no consideration to original content developers that the AI was trained on. There then became a use case where it allowed access to previously locked down corporate products. Within the span of weeks, this access has now been blocked /removed. This highlights that corporations will always protect corporations (AI didn’t give a shit about creative commons). When individuals push back the response is “suck it up, you should appreciate it” when it impacts a corporations bottom line or IP then there’s immediate changes. This forecasts that AI is not for value or benefit of people but of corporations.

Is there an easy way to do that ? I often think about all the random libraries and crap I’ve downloaded over time… auto remove doesn’t really clean anything up but if I look through the apt list I’ve got no idea what’s a dependency of what.

She really never stood a chance to assimilate into the community.

I’m curious, what about that persons response makes you feel they’re brainwashed?

So I’m guessing this means the wake on lan “magic packet”??

Free referrals to their site? What are you talking about? Google is a search engine, an indexer, its role is to point people to websites based on their search terms. It now scrapes all of the websites information and people no longer visit those websites???

Theft is when you take something and deprive the owner of what you took
So google ai summary now taking content from the web and putting at the top of their search, thus generally stopping people clicking on websites and taking their revenue -> theft.

… No? The library purchased a book? You are also an individual. AI is a corporation that has been ripping resources without paying for them plus commercializing the content that’s completely different. I believe you’d find you wouldn’t be allowed to get a book from the library then turn it into an ebook to resell.

My grievance isn’t so much with current household models with PCs sitting there running off solar (that’s starting to get very bloody specific though). But how did you get to a point where you could get a local model on your PC. All the pillaging of content, hundreds of Billions to Trillion(s) of dollars spend on a product that didn’t renumerate anyone who created their learning data.

How AI was trained is unethical. There was no consent, limited renumeration to individuals for using their work. If I drive to work, I provide value to people . Having AI scrape and summarize searches (incorrectly at times) has no benefit. Forcing all work meetings to use AI, has no benefit.

AI effectively raped and pillaged all human information for the benefit of a handful of corporations. It’s use has been shown to reduce the skills of school children and even deskill those with established knowledge. Then there’s the environmental considerations in a time where the world is decades behind appropriate climate change management… Id say it’s pretty understandable that it evokes passionate responses.

That mask is a good pickup.
We’re all screwed though. We used to be able to trust videos as news… no longer. Propaganda eat your heart out

we have way bigger problems to solve
Am not American, can confirm you have way bigger problems.
Who on earth starts a thread and doesn’t put in a single reply?

You were taught about zero-click mercenary spyware attacks in middle school? Neat.

If I had the option of someone filling my petrol whilst I just sat in the car I would 100% take that up. That’s a much better service ! Used to happen, guess labor was too expensive. I don’t see there being any harm in helping to keep a young workforce employed instead of doing the work myself for a business?

That’s an interesting take you have. I personally find there needs to be more interaction in self checkouts as they often error meaning you need to wave down / seek out someone to help.
In the register I say “G’day” "ill pack my own " (take my own bags), and “on the card thanks” . Pretty smooth process , plus it helps keep someone employed and not me working for my own groceries I’m paying for.
Well, how is it untypical?
