Played the single player mode a few months ago and it’s pretty good. It’s very immersive and lore-friendly, absolutely gorgeous, and you can tune your difficulty ( which may be required because defaults are mmo-tuned and grindy as fuck ). The big caveat for single player is that you’re essentially locked out of end-game equipment ( unless you tick “free crafting” or smth ).

This whole project seems like a load of hot air to appease investors. It got the spotlight right when Asha took the reigns 7 months ago and even now we know exactly jack shit about it, despite supposedly launching next year. But it’s estimated to cost 1200-1800 based on…vibes I guess, because we don’t even know what form it will take.
I don’t think CDPR’s risk comes from being a “single IP” dev, but more from the fact that they’re stock listed. If they were fully private they probably would’ve had a backup fund ( probably still do ) that would hold them over for a while if their games flopped. But the stock market can really bury you at the slightest hiccup, or push you to make bad decisions. Add to that the fact that they’re also an ambitious company that likes to bet big and grow fast and you start to worry for them.
No mention of Cambridge Analytica? I mean, I’m sure the russians put in a coin or two because the breakup was very much in their interest, but I’ve yet to see clear public proof of it other than various politicians claiming ‘it’s clear’.
Meanwhile there’s actual proof CA influenced elections and are probably working with the christo-fascists whose open goal is to break up the EU, so to me, in retrospect, it looks like maga and the US are the bigger fish here.

SCS’s truck sims? They’re great games, very chill driving while listening to radio or watching something on a second screen. And you can customize the level of sim-ness you want but it’s ok for both kb+m and wheel. Great community too. My gripes with them are that graphically the games are getting really long in the tooth and SCS seems to be unable or unwilling to do better and have instead been doing piecemeal map dlc for years now ( in their defense their newer maps are a lot better then what the game started with ). Btw, for map expansions you can also get the promods mods, which are huge map and gameplay expansions, but iirc they require the full game+dlc.
Did it tho? On steam I’m seeing a third of new reviews being negative, probably due to the performance issues on amd.
