Counterpoint: Amazon is buying billions in Nvidia AI systems it can’t yet turn on

Before turning to slower RAM, they collectively made VRAM&GPU a luxury by intentionally exhausting supply to everyone else, and leftover components they can’t (or haven’t even planned) to power on collects dust.
There are like tens of ways to ridicule his argument, but I find this one more direct.

His life is a joke. He is.

We need to reclaim our right to be silly and inefficient.

It’s time to invest into FEDI stonks. I mean, support your favorite platforms’ mainteiners.

They went with the assumption that as Google buys their data and replaces their links in search queue with LLM gen answers, their organic traffic from searches would get reduced into nothingness, so they can push their login requirement with little drawbacks. They increase price of each ad via personalization in a short run, but without a drag of the likes of Instagram, Discord, Whatsapp etc there would hardly be new users to create content.

I am now wondering how would it be nicer to have a local scheduled solution, an LLM as an office printer. Slow moving common queue that makes people get more conservative in their LLM usage, plan it’s rent for themselves, send inputs to have outputs later that day. Some inconvinience to tone down hardware costs and establish a more mindful consumption.
It could be fun to run experiments with that as one of test groups, and others unlimited or limited in some way, to compare how people adapt and how it affects workflows.

I think that to trully give urgent delivery services a purpose we need:
Fetch quests, when optimized, provide some persons with meaningful labor that keeps up their physique, and their, and then others’ involvement ties the community together and makes personal connections between people in it. Drones navigating the sidewalks humans use are irrelevant if the amount of labor needed is not overwhelming to begin with, and doesn’t need to be optimized by producing expensive robots and computer vision models.

Let’s see if bros who sucked fun out of any new fad would manage to make smoking uncool.

I’d like to see at least some detail that goes into attributing it.
