I’m not sure. That Benn Jordan video was good, though. Did Jordan make the source code publicly available? If so, you could look into it wherever it is hosted and see if anyone has said anything about it there.

Here’s a transcript:
[email protected]: The tweet that crashed NASDAQ and AI stocks in the US and Asia. Lmao. I say bring on aggressive regulations for this AI bullshit. The first step must be forcing them to prove they obtained explicit permission for every single word, code and image they stole from others. We need to claw back every single penny from Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic and the rest who stole data to train their shitty AI. They were so happy so see job losses and acting like brats. Fuck all of them
Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari: Top of the Democratic agenda on day 1 needs to be a pause on advanced AI development, regulation of this out of control industry, and a ban on artificial superintelligence.
I agree with the comment by [email protected].

I’m glad to be helpful. :)

I’m curious as to what issues IP and DNS caused that were so glaring.
Internet Protocol makes addresses location-based, allowing for geoblocking and tracking. It’s also centralized by design, allowing for consolidation of power, censorship, and control. DNS is one of the greatest examples of that consolidation of power, and is the reason owning a web domain costs money. In a decentralized public commons registrar or some kind, this would be no issue; a decentralized public commons registrar works better with a decentralized protocol.
I assume better methods were (and are) available for addressing and routing
Look into Reticulum. It’s a good example of a better design.

Yes. We already screwed it up when Internet Protocol took over and DNS was established. There were better methods. There are better methods.
That aside, we did have alternatives to big tech software for a long time:

sed 's/sed/said/g'

Winget certs break more often than not. Scoop.sh is better, although Windows sucks in general.

Try using Linux, if you don’t already. You’ll understand. 💦

You should probably block all the instances with “nsfw” in the name. It’ll remove a lot of the spammy pornographic imagery.

Be aware that many of the instances (ml, hexbear, etcetera) can be rather full of authoritarian leftists. Politically, there are few far-right people, but quite a few authoritarians and quite a few anarchists. That said, not everyone on ml is a tankie.

In what way do you perceive my words here to be hostile? I said only that I suspected you were kidding: I assumed you understood that NordVPN is a famously bad VPN. Again, it hid a data breach for 18mo.
You, however, accused me of an incapability of sincere thought, which is hostile and insulting.
I have not been hostile or rude to you, despite your hostility and brashness toward me. I struggle to see how you are offended, or how you took an imagined slight as justification for verbal rock-slinging.

That wasn’t very clear from your message.
You can use tone tags to make it more obvious when your messages are meant to be interpreted a certain way. For example, /j for joking or /s for sarcastic.
I am glad you were joking.

There is no need for hostility.
NordVPN has documented issues with:

yes to Copilot
no to AI slop
Mutually exclusive.

Don’t call it that. We should not cater to the renaming whims of a fascist.
This isn’t Twitter… /j
