Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•if lemmy gets successful, how do we delay or prevent its enshittification?
301·5 days agoEnshittification is not the worry. However we’re extremely vulnerable to spam and dead internet.

92·6 days agoUnfortunately that’s not how it works. Once you have a sufficiently large userbase, the network effects are enough to sustain them. A ton of people use facebook still and that has been a logged-in experience forever. Same with instagram.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What instances have the mlmym (old reddit) UI set up?
81·10 days agoWe used to run mlmym but it was starting to cause issues when it became unmaintained.
Would be good to have a dedicated community in lemmy where to bots would @ when posting, so that there’s native cross-posting in masto and threadiverse.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Tim Sweeney (Epic Games CEO) has a Twitter meltdown
122·17 days agoI agree there’s nothing special about them, but they certainly don’t think so. So them getting ratio’d by nobodies hurt their egos which gives me schadenfreude.

881·17 days agoIt’s wild to see the dude who became famous for just making and giving assets away for free, have enough clout to ratio the CEO of Epic. lol.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Introducing FediDB Software Comparison, Lemmy vs Mbin vs Piefed
61·18 days agoThis list of features is microblogging-centered. Some things like boosts and mastodon make no sense for the threadiverse. And some things which should be there to compare, aren’t.
Not only do I run and share it. I’ve built an entire service to allow everyone else to do so safely. https://aihorde.net/
That mod was the one that created that community though

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's with worldnews banning me for saying the USSR didn't singlehandedly defeat the Nazis?
21·27 days agoI don’t think any of us likes “punching down on service workers”. I’m not sure where you get that vibe.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's with worldnews banning me for saying the USSR didn't singlehandedly defeat the Nazis?
21·27 days agoUser is likely right-leaning. They tend to hate anarchists and MLs just as much.
I run and grew /r/piracy for over 10 years. I took part in the api protests and also urged people to migrate to lemmy publicly. One of my mods went behind my back and asked the admins to demod me and rearrange mods so that they’re on top, and the admins complied. Then the sub went back to business as usual.

The internal comments to a thread, yes. The sorting of the threads however was newest comment first
