My initial comment was just satire, but reading through the document I’m just… tired. This sort of analysis originates from America’s intelligence organizations. It’s not surprising that the technique’s bled into private-business–it always happens. Intel. orgs. create a software solution that solves one of their problems and entrepreneurs within those organizations realize private-businesses have similar problems.

(I will state–because it’s tangentially related–the matrix-protocol originates from individuals linked to mossad. I encourage users not to use matrix.)

The cat has long been out of the bag. Only the cat is invisible (data) and the bag’s a computer. This invisible collection, sale and synthesis of data has become a central component of modern economies now. People playing Pokemon Go didn’t know (and the authors of the game-software probably didn’t know either) that they were collecting data for the use of training autonomous-suicide-drones. This is the economy now. This is surveillance-capitalism.

You can’t lobby for regulation, removedation or prohibition. Capital has invested large sums and that investment is paying dividends. Capital is flowing into this sector and something capitalists refrain from writing is that labour is subjugated entirely by capital. Capitalism is a dictatorship. That means scientists, engineers, technologists, marketers and others now find their jobs being: how can we make ever more sophisticated computers, networks and ways to surveil. This surveillance is done to generate data. Then capital is allocated in the pursuit of synthesizing this data into saleable products. One of its results is the ‘AI’ that you can use from ChatGPT or whatever it’s called. A less known result is the AI being sold to nation-states that target and kill autonomously.

There’s no going back. You and your child live under the dictatorship of capital. You live under capitalism. You are a commodity to be brought and sold by capitalists.

Aside from overwhelming collective-action this can not be stopped. The organization that brought these things are largely ignorant and non-caring. The most you’ll get from them is usually a parroting of “we value your privacy and it’s protected under some law” (which doesn’t protect anything). They don’t care. To care would be to prohibit all new procurements–this is what the market is now selling; this is what’s cheapest. It does something beneficial for them so they brought it. The fact it came with a computer that surveils the children is besides the point. The data is invisible and the computer is small and hidden. Out of sight out of mind. The cat’s invisible. It never purrs or meows. It only demands two things: electricity and a connection. But that’s normal. Everything requires those.

It somehow feels like everything is owned by a handful of companies… Oh, that company? It was its own thing in the 1980s, but X brought them out. X also brought Y, Z and C. There’s no competition. X owns everything.

It really hasn’t. It’s always been a commercial outfit and it’s been true to that goal: make money. Consumers keep making fantastical stories about a titan of surveillance-capitalism though. It was financed via the CIA and it has been working with the USA’s intelligence-community from day dot. It hasn’t changed. It’s still Google and it will continue being Google.

The ones I use for mobile-computers are 10,000mAh batteries. At these sizes they fit nicely on the back and the mobile-computer can still easily fit into pockets.

This is something that doesn’t make sense in the Australian market. Consumers are lazy here. Felix sells an unlimited plan for $40.00 AUD a month. Other retailers are selling 30Gb a month for $44.00 AUD. I think the cheapest seller here is Aldi who resells Tesltra-capacity for $28.00 AUD a month with 12Gb of data. The price isn’t exceptional, often being cheaper than the dominant sellers.

You’ve gone from stating i2pd on Android would use 4TB of data to a mobile-computer would last only 4 hours if an i2p-router was running. Just state clearly: you’re making up shit. You haven’t used the software and you have no interest in it. The above is a screenshot of i2pd running on a Pixel 6 Pro under GrapheneOS. In 6 hours i2pd has used 94.31Mb. In a month with 31 days that would extrapolate to 11.69444Gb. How much data you’re willing to ‘donate’ is entirely up to you as it’s configurable. My internal-battery is full at 80% (charging optimization enabled which halts charging at 80%) whilst the external battery is at 66%. Bluetooth has been on the whole time sending audio to a headset. This mobile-computer also runs Briar non-stop.

I stick an external-battery to the back using hook and loop tape. It will last more than 24 hours. I honestly don’t know what you’re trying to say. People doomscroll on Tiktok all day and I’m pretty sure that’s just video content, probably hi-res too. No one’s pretending data is precious or limited except for you. (Australian retailers sell unlimited mobile-data plans.) You don’t want to use i2p on a mobile-computer? Ok. Other people do and I’m one of them. As I already stated in the previous post: if you actually want to do things with your mobile-computer pack batteries. Your imagination’s the limit.

I administer a cluster of irc-nodes that talk to each other over i2p. Some nodes live on mobile-computers whilst others are on laptops or desktops. Decentralised chat hosted on your own hardware using your own connections. No need to pay perpetual rents for whitelisted IP addresses or a domain. You get encrypted communications with anonymization built-in that supports both TCP and UDP. It’s great.

Surveillance-capitalism is the new norm. Don’t wait for regulation–it won’t arrive. Protect your own computers with libre-software. Don’t use their services.

Drop Google completely. Don’t use it. They’re telling the Americans who to kill and enabling Israel’s genocide.
