Yup, it’s the standard AI problem: It is way too easy to just do something without considering the consequences for yourself and others. It is specifically designed to shut off thinking in its users, so this is what inevitably happens.

Is it because he thinks he is the brightest human scientist, but it turns out he’s actually pretty stupid?

Well, I guess that explains what the “FU” in the model number stands for!

Honestly, most Apple users I know are well aware of touch screen laptops, and don’t want one 😅

if anything, it shows Mayer performing the exact kind of cognitive offloading that any AI tool worth its salt should free us up to focus on rather than doing for us.
This has been the focus from the start, though. Almost all of the “killer apps” for AI that we’re being sold by the AI companies are about doing the creative stuff and human interaction for us. So we can spend more time being depressed, mindless worker drones, I guess?

Great nominative determinism!
Your dissent will be live!
(Presuming the headline is a reference)
I think it is much more important to groom your facial hair if it is… let’s say “sparse”. If I let my beard grow “wild” you just see how patchy it is 😆 If I keep it very short and trim the edges it looks presentable.

A friend of mine hates cheese (I know, none of us understand it), and she got a job in Switzerland. She worked remotely, but every time she had to go there for company gatherings and such she had to endure endless amounts of fondue and raclette 😆
I’m going 10 miles above the limit on this incredibly wide and straight and flat road with high curbs and perfect visibility
This is the reason why people speed. If you want people to drive more slowly, you have to design the road/street in a way that discourages higher speeds. Do this, and you won’t need any invasive speed cameras or pay traffic cops to enforce.
On highways I suspect no one gives a shit. If it feels natural to drive 10 mph above the speed limit, it’s probably safe. But raising the speed limit would probably lead some people to speeding even more, with fewer options for punishing them (in my country at least, the fine is dependent on how much above the limit you were going).
Fantastic! No notes.
I couldn’t get my head around DDNS when I started out, so I ended up renting a dirt cheap VPS and running a wireguard tunnel from my homeserver. I think I pay ~$3 a month for the VPS, where I also run the reverse proxy for my services (Caddy).
Cons: I’m not completely self sufficient Pros: My machine is not exposed directly to the net, and it was laughably simple to set up.
When they say “password auth disabled” they don’t mean being ble to log in without authentication. It means that your machine instead authenticates with an SSH key:
You generate a private/public key pair on your computer (the one you will take with you), and add the public key from that pair to a list of trusted computers on your server. When logging in, your computer will prove to the server who it is by generating that same public key. No password needed.
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 on you computer.~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub from you computer into a file on you server called ~/.ssh/authorized_keys.That’s it!
The file on the server should be in the home directory of the user you want to log in as. If it already exists, add the key you generated to the end of it.

Wouldn’t it be better to learn how to use a kitten blender instead of trying to hold back the tide of kitten blending?

Makes sense. I know he doesn’t give a shit about those, so doxxing wouldn’t be an issue for him 🙃

The billing address or the shipping address?

Huh… I had expected something more extravagant. Looks like a run of the mill McMansion. Probably not his only house, though!

It’s John Apple now!
(Tim Cook resigned. John Ternus is the current CEO of Apple)

All of them spin turbines! Some just heat other stuff than water, and then transfer that heat to water to spin the turbine.
I guess one exeption would be a radioisotope thermoelectric generator, but I don’t really think those count as power plants…
They go through this in the video. The frequencies in question overlap with large portions of the vocal range, so not very practical. They also show that it’s pretty easy to recreate the data even when it’s attenuated.
