  • I’m no AI expert but when I looked into it, it seemed that VRAM was the biggest factor being mentioned in discussions of GPUs, hence why I mentioned it.

I could be wrong, but I think there are differences not just in FLOPS but perhaps more importantly in what kinds of functions are supported (with newer GPUs becoming gradually more general-purpose), so I’m not sure if the GPU from 2014 is capable of running AI models at all (slowly or otherwise).

I actually kinda want to find out, because my old GPU is a Vega 56 (which is also 8GB) and I’m not sure if it would be useful or not.

  • …and then the DA backs them up by grossly overcharging in order to intimidate everyone into plea-bargaining, whether they’re guilty or not. And even the court procedures themselves structurally incentivize pleading guilty for small offenses just because if you plead not guilty they make you show up to separate court dates for arraignment, transfer to a different court (because so many people plead that the first court isn’t even set up to hold trials anymore) and arraignment again, finally the actual trial, etc.

  • First of all, that’s great in and of itself. I use Tuta for e-mail and I’ve been looking into a calendar solution to integrate with Home Assistant, and now it sounds like I could connect Tuta Calendar to NextCloud Calendar and then NextCloud Calendar to Home Assistant, so that’s cool.

That said, I wish they were doing it even more integrated, in the sense of having Tuta host a NextCloud instance itself so that I didn’t have to go through the effort of self-hosting it just for that. (Either that, or they could have Tuta Calendar integrate with Home Assistant directly, but it sounds like that isn’t planned [warning: R*ddit link])
