Technology@lemmy.world•Solar Panels Are Now Producing So Much Power That They’re Leaving Nuclear Plants in the Dust: "Solar is now the engine of the power transition."English
1·7 days agoHydrogen EVs are not the topic, that might only make sense to replace diesel locomotives, if that. I am talking about standard store and use instead of coal or gas powerplants.

Technology@lemmy.world•Solar Panels Are Now Producing So Much Power That They’re Leaving Nuclear Plants in the Dust: "Solar is now the engine of the power transition."English
22·8 days agoYeah, but does energy waste matter if the other option is that you turn wind or solar input off? It should not run during high peak, of course, but if there is more energy in the grid than it uses? Turn it into hydrogen.
And storage, strangely that safety topic never gets raised with nuclear. If we can build safe nuclear, we can build safe hydrogen storage.

44·8 days agoYeah, yeah, same arguments as with solar, too expensive, not feasible, yadda yadda. Always the same.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How to gain weight from eating almost exclusively bread and potatoes?
1·11 days agoOK, here is the thing. If you are for real, get help. Real one, not internet strangers. Malnutrition will fuck you up long-term. Find out any program that can help you get real food. Get help.
In would also recommend to find a job to give you structure. Not some gig economy scam, something real. Wash dishes, help your community, anything that gives you structure and something to do. You don’t need to get rich, you need a foundation you can build on, because if you are for real, there is some serious ground work missing.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How to gain weight from eating almost exclusively bread and potatoes?
2·12 days agoSince you mentioned that you hate cooking and have no interest in making it tasty but want efficient more calories: Pint of ice cream. Let it melt, drink it. 1000 calories per pint. Most of them useless, but if your goal is weight gain…
Otherwise, protein heavy diet (beans, rice, vegetables) plus a workout routine to actually build up muscles and not just fat

Schade.
