22 days agoToday, end-to-end encrypted messaging services such as WhatsApp, Messenger and Signal are exempt from the scanning. This has been a major cause of disagreement between the negotiating parties within the EU.
This assumes that WhatsApp messages are actually end-to-end encrypted, for which we have no proof and only The Zuck’s promise that it is so. And we all know how much his promises for the protection of people’s privacy and data is worth.
