Nobody of any importance or significance. Hopefully, one day soon, everyone will be as unfamiliar with him as you are.

42·2 days agoThey work for a piece of shit. You gonna be polite to a Nazi general because he’s just doing his job? Making all his staff quit would go a long way toward making him actually fuck off, rather than getting your polite “fuck off” message politely delivered to the nearest trash bin so they don’t get fired.

Profit must always increase at an exponential rate or your company is a failure. Sustainability is death to these psychos.

25·20 days agoYou’re sure making a lot of assumptions in this post, about me and the methodology of this research. AI was used, as I claimed it was, and you have no idea in what manner it was used because you clearly neither read the article or investigated any of its claims. Go ahead and keep inventing your own reality and protecting it with your ban list, I couldn’t possibly care any less.

34·20 days agoI read the article and looked up the system they used for it. But go ahead and use an instance url to baselessly discredit what im saying.
The data were collected using Osavul software, which flagged the analyzed accounts as displaying signs of inauthentic behavior.

49·20 days agoThis one comes from a Ukrainian propaganda outlet that used AI to “prove” this so I imagine that’s why it seems to conflict with other sources.

Technology@lemmy.world•Drone strikes didn’t take out a Russian bot farm, but we were primed to believe itEnglish
416·23 days agoYeah I suspect the traffic did drop when Yandex’s spiders and all the colocated AI systems stopped crawling your site; data from cloudflare confirms this. It’s not a coincidence; it’s just not what people are claiming it is. You’d probably see a similar drop if someone bombed data centers in the US, but that doesn’t mean they’re running social media troll bots. AI bots are responsible for a lot of traffic these days.
Do you have any information on what user agent strings the suspicious traffic was using? Yandex bots might still use their user agent string even if they were crawling through a VPN. AI bots would probably masquerade as a standard browser, but would be likely try to crawl your entire site unlike natural traffic visiting a few pages. With VPNs in play it’s too difficult to say for sure, though.

1126·24 days agoSo you don’t manage a site with any social media component? I don’t think the bots that were crawling your site are the same ones people are saying disappeared from sites like twitter.
It’s not very surprising that banning all Russian traffic resulted in most of that traffic moving to a VPN; that’s the primary method of circumventing geofencing.

Technology@lemmy.world•People are rejoicing about the removal of Russian bots from social media – but the truth is far more complicatedEnglish
61·25 days agoNothing there is contradictory. People on twitter anecdotally think there are fewer bot replies and try to prove it, erroneously, with charts from cloudflare showing that traffic that self identifies as bot traffic because it’s from fucking search engine spiders is down.
I can see how this would be confusing if you had no idea what those charts meant and were just looking to confirm an existing bias, though.

132·25 days agoBot traffic is down: meaning the bots that Yandex used to index webpages for their search engine. The article doesn’t take very long to make that point; you could have just skimmed it to see that (I did).
So it’s true, but not in the way people mean it when they say “all the russian bots are gone!”.

Far more likely that the AI was just trained on people complaining about RAM prices. I doubt it has any concept of pricing bulk or otherwise.
