Also [email protected]. Not a lot of Zeppos out here.
Who said it was? I’m speaking of my personal experience as someone who lives there. So the notion that one would vote for an imperfect candidate to block a fascist from taking power is not unfamiliar to me.
Lula doesn’t really stand a snowman’s chance in hell of winning this election.
oh, ok
It’s in Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s recent book.
What a lazy absolute disrespectful heathen. And recall how Republicans threw fits about things like the outgoing Clinton admin switching letters on keyboards at the White House…
Right up there with the orange painted cretin throwing White House sterling silverware in the trash
I think a reasonable profit is okay, but 3x the basic cost is excessive.
Cleaning fees are something Uber has reasonably received much criticism for, and something I saw as a problem trying to use the platform myself. One thing is they for a long time did not include the cleaning fee in the pricing you’d see in a search… you had to read the description for each property to see what it was. That meant you might see one property for $200, and other for $100, which seemed like a relative bargain… but then turns out the $200 one had a $50 cleaning fee and the $100 one charged $175, for example. I think they finally changed that a few years back but it’s hard to see how AirBnB could not have understood why that would be a problem in the first place.
yeah, i think you’re correct
That’s not really the spirit of what the cleaning fee is supposed to be. I can see covering overhead of arranging for a cleaning service being legitimate. Using it as a profit center is wrong. Employing a mechanic as part of an auto service center is different because that is their primary profit center. A host is supposed to make money from the main lodging fee, not an inflated cleaning charge.
Even worse, hosts would demand that you run the dishwasher and launder the sheets, and then still charge a cleaning fee. On top of that. I knew someone who was paid $25 to clean Airbnbs per unit, while the hosts were charging a cleaning fee of 75.
Yes, in the same way that Uber pretended that their service was a way to find people to carpool with and not a taxi service
That’s how the US works as well.
He wants his posts to actually show up on Facebook? I don’t really see that as regulating internet speech. Meta has meddled in tons of elections and I think it’s fair to complain about.
Running his own instance would be about the equivalent of just making their own website or blog. The point of social media is the dissemination to the public, and just having a Lemmy/whatever instance doesn’t accomplish that.
Bad guy seems to be Bolsonaro and Meta. Why would Lula be included in that?
Okay. I don’t care about that at all, I care about actual crimes and corruption that have been committed, not what someone might have done.
Also, the current PRESIDENT is corrupt as fuck and there has never been an indication Joe Biden was.
Okay, so you mean Hunter Biden, not Joe Biden as President. I agree the LAPTOP coin is stupid and seems scammy. Still a drop in the bucket compared to the cavalcade of horseshit from the Trump family.
What were Biden’s acts of blatant corruption?
Sorry fuckstick, there’s no cool middle ground to find with Israel murdering people.
I haven’t used reddit in months, but i do the same thing where I delete accounts periodically. Last I observed, new accounts start out shadowbanned. Some subs tell you they won’t let you post with an account that’s too new or has too little karma. Others just hide your posts silently (shadowbanning, of course… not necessarily site wide though). One thing I found that helps is to make new accounts periodically then don’t use them for 3-4 months.
