getting fascist vibes from the placeholder image.
what’s fascist in it?
Western fascists are obsessed with the “fall of the Roman empire” and with white statues and buildings from that period. A common dogwhistle is the avatar with some greco-roman looking bust sculpture (white). They also talk as if the empire was a good thing and the collapse was a bad thing.
Checking on the video, it promotes the AI dangers bullshit with a mediocre analogy, a story that is proAI.
Believe me, I hate nazis/fascist of any kind, but also think that:
- it is ridiculous to think that every Greek or Roman statue is a fascist dogwisthle;
- the collapse of Roman empire is far more nuanced that good/bad, I do not argue that it was bad yet it cannot be defended that it was simply good: what came after was Dark Ages named as such not by an accident;
- why the analogy might be seen as poor, I don’t know how talking about AI (maybe somewhat overhyped) dangers of multiple dimensions is actually an advertisement of AI
I didn’t say that the status are. I said that their avatars with statues are.
what came after was Dark Ages named as such not by an accident;
And a lot of freedom for the people no longer under the boot of the empire. You should look that up too.
