It’s Dead Man’s Bones, and they were inspired by a mutual love of the supernatural and haunting. It’s pretty fucking good.
Also, every time I hear about Gosling he seems like a cooler and cooler guy. Like, I’d invite him to game night.

I had My Body’s A Zombie For You on a demo mixtape. This was back in like 2010 and I still get it stuck in my head out of the blue. I constantly forget Ryan Gosling is in that band.

IIRC both him and Zach Shields challenged themselves to record everything in 3 takes or less. It feels like such a warm and cozy Halloween/fall album without the weird polished veneer of some bands.
