The damage has barely started. We’re all on the Titanic, and we can already see the ice berg coming.

and yet, your post history continues to show us you love providing value to the shareholders pushing this shit. Curious.

and yet paradoxically the only thing keep us out of recession :\

when you think back to how easily the entire global economy exploded in 2008… the last 18months makes zero fucking sense.

We’re already in a recession, they’re just manipulating the numbers with this bullshit.

          *gestures at everything.

On an individual basis when wages don’t keep up with inflation, it feels like a recession. When retail sales are down, services spending is down and business spending is down, except for ai, it feels like a recession.

K shaped economy. By all traditional metrics the biggest winners in the economy are disproportionately propping it up.

Thanks for the keyword. Looked into it, and it seems that the economy is in a weird state now. VC money is causing inflation, which causes issues with everything that isn’t directly tied to AI. All the AI related companies are doing just fine, especially chip manufacturers. All the other industries are suffering. The number of bankruptcies is also alarming.

This is what happens when they extract money away from all the things that fundamentally support a strong society.

Every dollar invested in something is a dollar not invested in something else. It’s called opportunity cost.

I have no idea how many great wonders could’ve been built with the several trillions used to try to make LLMs into some kind of God.

Is there a lot of crossover between residential and commercial construction in the US? Where I am it’s generllally 2 different industries.

I was about to ask what the chart even means, then somehow my stoned ass suddenly found herself back in elementary school learning about how to read charts

I am very stoned right now, and therefore very stupid right now 🫪

If anything, just think of my comment as an algorithm boost
